Anne Primine Vimaladasa Kalakshetra Graduate,

Smt. Anne Primine Vimaladasa, born and brought up in Batticalola, Sri Lanka, where she learnt her initial Bharatanatyam in her tender age.

After finishing her A – Levels she went to South India and joined prestigious Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts in Chennai and graduated in Bharatanatyam and sub- Carnatic Vocal.

While she was in Kalakshetra, she got the rare opportunity to perform and participate in Kalakshetra productions. She travelled along with the troupe, all over India and performed Dance Dramas and variety programmes.

Later, she went back to Sri Lanka and joined as a lecturer in Bharatanatyam at Swami Vipulananda Music College in Batticalola and served as a visiting lecturer for Eastern University for the Fine Arts department.

After moving to London in 1995, she joined several Tamil schools and started teaching Dance. Through this, she has trained many young children to attain their Diploma and Post Diploma levels. Under her guidance, some of her students have completed their Arangetrams. Furthermore, she continues to educate young teachers in this beautiful art. In 2018 for her dedication to the Fine Arts she was awarded the reputable title of “Natya Kala Vidushi” by OFAAL.

From 1996, she has been serving as a senior examiner for the Oriental Fine Arts Academy of London (OFAAL) and travelled all over Europe and Scandinavian Countries to examine.

She sets Bharatanatyam theory examination papers and conducts numerous seminars, presentations and workshops alongside her fellow music committee members across Europe.

She be been actively promoting OFAAL to new young teachers and been instrumental to open new exam centers. Moreover, she works along with Kuchipudi dance teachers to develop the Kuchipudi syllabus for the OFAAL examinations. She is a Trustee and Norway coordinator of Oriental Fine Arts Academy of London (OFAAL).

Smt.Anne Primine Vimaladasa is the Deputy Head and the Head of Fine Arts for the Oriental Fine Arts & Tamil School.
